Auto Insurance Save Big

There are a number of ways to save on auto insurance, save without compromising your coverage.  Discounts are given for numerous reasons.  This article discusses a few of the most common yet little know discount options.

Are you finding it difficult to purchase auto insurance, save money, and still have the coverage you need?  There are several ways to correct this situation, and the bottom line is simply knowing how to shop for your insurance, as well as what sacrifices you are willing to make.  Most of all, you will need to keep in mind that the amount of coverage you need is the most important factor and should not be compromised for lower rates.

On your auto insurance, save through discounts for good driving and other responsibility rewards.  Most insurance providers will begin offering discounts after 6 months of a clean driving record and continue to discount your premiums for each period your record stays clean.  This is because, due to your safe driving practices, they are incurring lower risk insuring you than an individual with a marred driving record.  Also, for young drivers who are paying outrageous prices (based on statistics and lack of experience that show higher risk factors) there are savings options.  On teenagers’ auto insurance, save when they get good grades.  A and B student discounts are often available, as it’s been shown that students who maintain good grades are more responsible drivers.

Other discounts are also available.  If you receive a citation, you are often given the opportunity to dismiss the charge by taking a defensive driving or safety driving course.  However, if you choose to take these of your own accord, you’ll get a break on your auto insurance.  Save on top of that by installing an alarm system on your car or enrolling in a theft deterrent plan.  If you have a passive alarm, such as an ignition kill switch, you’ll receive a small discount.  A fully active alarm system will equal greater savings.

Of course, you can always skimp on your car insurance but don't skinp on theft protection, Auto Insurance Theft may be your best buy.  Another bargain may be Breakdown Car Insurance, check it out. Save by cutting coverage completely on optional aspects of your policy, such as towing and rental reimbursement insurance.  If you own your care outright (are the sole titleholder) you can drop to bare-bones basic liability coverage, maintaining the lowest amount and highest deductibles specified in your state.  However, you should strike a balance and try not to drop your coverage too low, since you may need to use it and don’t want to incur huge out of pocket costs.  When you purchase auto insurance, save in ways that make sense, maintaining the coverage you need and can also afford.
